 Cardiologist

So this is about my cardiologist clearance. I have health issues, and I understand that at this point I have to do something about my weight or I’m going to die. But, I do not have diabetes, and I do not have heart problems. Awesome, right? I think so.

But, when I saw my cardiologist based on my pulmonary issues he didn’t want to give me clearance at all. He didn’t even want to run tests. And, I was totally floored. Here I was a month into my new life, and this stranger just smashed my dreams. What was I going to do?

Thankfully, no matter what a cardiologist thinks/says a pulmonologist it does not make. He agreed that he would run tests and if they came out clear then he would grant it. Otherwise, I would have gone to some other cardiologist. Because, you can do that. You don’t have to just take the first answer as gospel. Especially when he hasn’t even run tests, and his thought process is based on his per-conceived ideas.

I felt so elated when he called to tell me that all the tests came out fine. He didn’t find anything. No heart issues, nothing in my blood work. No reason he could deny me that was ‘cardiology.’ He canceled or next appointment, and I know he was disappointed that he was wrong. Because, he even said, ‘ I only made that appointment because I suspected you would have major heart issues.’

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I am free and clear of you sir. Good day.

 Psych Evaluation.

Oh man. This one was scary. Mostly because I didn’t know what to expect. But, also the packet I got in the mail was INDIMIDATING. It was 10 pages long, and it wanted to know everything. And, I mean everything. Including some highly none of your business intimate kind of stuff.

But, when I get there it was easy. He asked a few things, but mostly it was nothing really from the pages I had to fill out beforehand. The majority of the test is memory recall. He asks me questions like who the past president is, and who the current one is. What’s today date? Which admittedly I didn’t know. I had to look at my cellphone. I mean, who knows what day it is anymore anyway? He wanted to know what I ate for breakfast that day, and the day before. It was easy. I’m on a lifestyle/diet it’s the same thing pretty much. And, then he gave me a series of three words I had to remember from the beginning to the end.

A Ball. A………. and A Tree. I still have no idea what that middle thing was. None. It bothers me a little, but I’ll live with it.

But, mostly it was numbers. A series of numbers I repeated. The second part I had a little more trouble with. He said a set of numbers and then I had to repeat it. I think I got most of them, but I totally lost a whole set completely.

Thirteen minutes later I was done.

Letter from Dr. , Pulmonary, and Upper GI

Well, all these were pretty easy. The doctor thought what I was doing was good. He said that he felt like you should lose weight naturally, and if you can’t then you have to take responsibility and do something about it. And, he was elated. He actually congratulated me and cheered me on when he told me that I’d lost 13lbs in a week. I owe it to the 800 calorie diet I’m on. I’ll tell you about that in another update.

I’ve had pulmonary issues for the last five years so those were already on file, and I didn’t have to do anything new for the doctor.

And, last year in September I was rushed to the hospital with bleeding ulcers. One of the tests they ran to find the cause of the blood was an upper GI, twice once to find out what was going on and the second time to make sure it was fixed. So because of the closeness of the time frame I didn’t have to have a new one. The upper GI wasn’t horrible, but I was under for all of it. And, when I woke up my throat was just a little sore, so I wanted ice. But, other than that I was fine. The worst part of it was the nurse not listening to me when I told her I have reactions to hospitals.

Check. Check. Check.

All that leaves is the BMI and the Dietitian consultation.

My next appointment with the surgeon is May 4. The Dietitian appointment is May 24th. Cross your fingers for me guys.

Keep the faith, and go onward my Leading Ladies and Gents.
